fix broken ubuntu gutsy apt-get sources.list

I couldn't find any docs about what to do with my broken gutsy install now that the apt repositories have all stopped carrying gutsy. "Drop what you're doing and reinstall with hardy" is not an okay answer this afternoon. So here's the solution.

Obsolete releases get moved to old-releases.ubuntu.com, so here's my working /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu gutsy main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu gutsy main restricted universe multiverse

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu gutsy-updates main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu gutsy-updates main restricted universe multiverse

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu gutsy-security main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu gutsy-security main restricted universe multiverse

Use with caution of course.

Nice! Thanks. As others have said, I'm surprised this fix wasn't posted elsewhere by now.

I can't remember when 1 post helped so many people. Ubuntu dropped the ball on this subject completely.
This should have never been such a
mystery.

Thanks

Thanks. I think I should upgrade this customers server.
Now I know why to choose LTS (.04-Releases).

(I knowed before, but ignored it on that server for any reason ;-))

Good show! This was a problem for a production webserver with all kinds of addons (Joomla...). As you said, starting from scratch wasn't an option.

Thanks. It made my 5 year old computer new again!
